About me
My ornithological research got launched due to a Master's dissertation at Ghent University by analyzing the movement dynamics of the Canada Goose as an exotic species in Flanders. My subsequent activities are more focused on native bird species, including census and mapping in Special Protection Areas.
For the STERNA project (Semantic Web-based Thematic European Reference Network Application), I coordinated the RMCA’s bird-related data transfer to a distributed digital library, thereby improving online access to biological collection data via search portals including GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility).
My current perspectives include ornithological monitoring (mainly based on Bulbuls Pycnonotidae as bioindicators) in collaboration with African experts.
