Description: English: Mulberry whelk (Tenguella marginalba) atop a blue periwinkle (Austrolittorina unifasciata) in situ as found. Near Collaroy, NSW, Australia. This predatory mollusc climbs on top of barnacles and other invertebrates and slowly drills a hole in their shell. It then inserts a feeding tube and eats it's prey fresh from the shell "au naturale"
