Brief Summary ( İngilizce )

Ecomare tarafından sağlandı
The elm tree beetle is the best know bark beetle, living in the wood of the elm tree. It carries and spreads the dreaded and deadly Dutch elm disease. Adult beetles carry fungi traces out of its tunnel and infect young shoots if they break. The gnawing tracks in the elm wood is typical: a so-called mother tunnel is gnawed vertically. From the mother tunnel, the larva make their own tunnel heading outward. After pupation, each beetle flies through its own hole to the outside.
