Records of this species off the Caribbean coast of Panama are unconfirmed. However, reliable records (see Hendler et al, 1995) show the distribution of this species straddles Panama having been collected from the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela, making its occurrence in Panama plausible.
