Haplochromis aeneocolor Greenwood 1973

Mouthbrooding by females.

Potamodromous. Migrating within streams, migratory in rivers, e.g. Saliminus, Moxostoma, Labeo. Migrations should be cyclical and predictable and cover more than 100 km.

Common near papyrus shores (Ref. 4983). Apparently it never occurs offshore. Seems to be a detritus feeder since plant fragments and insect larvae are predominant elements of the gut (Ref. 558).
