Description: English: This photograph was taken in Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Tamil nadu, which is a part of Agasthyamalai biosphere. Peltopelor macrolepis is endemic to India and is known only in the Western Ghats from the Nilgiri Hills to Ashambu and Agasthyamalai Hills in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.Listed as Near Threatened as its extent of occurrence is estimated to be about 18,000 km2, presence from four locations and 13 sites of which some are under influence of threat due to tourism-related activities.
