Stems are 3–10 cm long and much-branched. Leaves are ± narrow-lanceolate, mostly 3–8 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, often red-brown, opposite and sessile. Flowerheads are elongate and thyrsoid. Flowers are 4-5-merous. Calyx lobes are 1.5–2.5 mm long and reddish green. Petals are white to cream and 1.5–2 mm long. Pedicels are to 8 mm long in fruit.
