This is a nautilus shell viewed from underneath. When looking up, the white shell blends in with the light from above. Note the spot where the animal's shell and mantle were damaged, yet the mantle was able to heal and grow the shell back. This was possibly from a predator attack. This shell came from the South Pacific.
