Plant purchased from a plant nursery in the coastal town of Blyth in the northernmost English county of Northumberland. Species belonging to the genus Amsonia are herbaceous perennials of upright habit, having the common name ‘bluestars’ and many are popular as ornamental plants, grown for their attractive flowers and bright Autumn leaf colours.
