Lifespan, longevity, and ageing
provided by AnAge articles
Maximum longevity: 5 years (captivity)
Observations: Life expectancy in the wild is probably under 1 year. Reproductive ability declines in the second year of life. There is one report of a male specimen obtained at an unknown age living almost 5 years in captivity (Ronald Nowak 1999).
