Encelia californica (California Brittlebush) is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, North America, Western North America, and The Americas. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Sunflower Seed Maggot, Vanessa cardui, Formicidae, and Honey bee. Individuals can grow to 0.9 m.
