Cytisus scoparius (Broom) is a species of shrub in the family legumes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Ukraine, Switzerland, Hungary, United Kingdom, Poland, Portugal, Western North America, Sweden, Moldova, Belgium, Romania, Lithuania, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Yugoslavia, Italy, Norway, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, France, and Belarus. They have compound, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by White-tailed bumblebee, Leucozona lucorum, Parasyrphus, and Helophilus hybridus. Individuals can grow to 7 feet.
