Ulex europaeus (Gorse) is a species of shrub in the family legumes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Western North America, Western Europe, central europe, France, The Hawaiian Islands, and Europe. They have compound, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Buff-tailed bumblebee, Ashy mining bee, and Phaedon cochleariae. Individuals can grow to 1.5 m.
