Description

Annual glandular-pubescent herb, resembling a small species of Juncus. Leaves spirally arranged, linear. Inflorescences of leaf-opposed cincinni. Flowers yellow, bidexual, actinomorphic. Sepals 3, free, longer than the petals. Petals 3, free. Stamens 6, fertile; filaments bearded. Ovary 3-locular. Fruit a 3-locular capsule, the valves reflexing after dehiscence and resembling small horns. Seeds many.
