It is native to Puerto Rico, Paraná, Espirito Santo, Goiás, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso, Pampa, Caatinga, Paraíba, Amazônia, Cerrado, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Ceará, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Amazônia, Bahia, Pará, and Pantanal. Cresta De Gallo Blanco has compound, broad leaves. It fixes nitrogen. It is a photoautotroph.
