Vicia americana is a species of perennial herb in the family legumes. They are climbers. They are native to Western North America, United States, The Contiguous United States, Alaska, and Canada. They have compound, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Polites rhesus, Ancyloxypha numitor, Icaricia icarioides, and Icaricia saepiolus. Individuals can grow to 1.3 feet.
