Crataegus monogyna (Hawthorn) is a species of shrub in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They have simple, broad leaves, purple flowers, and fleshy fruit. Flowers are visited by Delia, Rhingia rostrata, midges, and Andrena bucephala. Individuals can grow to 15 m.
