Clematis vitalba (Traveller's Joy) is a species of shrub in the family Ranunculaceae. They are obligate climbers. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Austria, Afghanistan, Armenia, United Kingdom, Hungary, Syria, Bulgaria, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Romania, Belgium, Portugal, Serbia And Montenegro, The Netherlands, Germany, Albania, Russia, Georgia, France, Czech Republic, Iran, Spain, Lebanon, Ukraine, Algeria, and Cyprus. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by Eriothrix rufomaculata, Bombus ruderarius, Syrphus vitripennis, and Sepsis cynipsea. Individuals can grow to 6.6 m.
