They are native to Espirito Santo, Cerrado, Ceará, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio De Janeiro, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, Rio Grande Do Sul, The Neotropics, Mata Atlântica, Santa Catarina, and Bahia. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 6.9 m.
