Chionanthus virginicus (American Fringe Tree) is a species of shrub in the family Oleaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and drupes. Flowers are visited by Nomada maculata. Individuals can grow to 25 feet.
