Type of sediment not stated. The species was originally collected in a shrimp farm in the upper region of a low-energy tropical coastal lagoon, in a zone made up of tidal flats and flooding areas and mostly bordered by the species Rhizophora mangle (Linnaeus, 1753), Avicennia germinans (Linnaeus, 1753), Conocarpus erectus (Linnaeus, 1753) and Laguncularia racemosa (Linnaeus, 1753).
