General Description

Shell: The shell is an elongate-oval and is moderately elevated. The apex occurs at the highest elevation of the shell. The protoconch and exterior sculpture was eroded in all specimens, with the surface showing an irregular pattern of evenly etched lines. The shell interior is thickened on the inner side. The muscle scar is horseshoe-shaped, with inwardly directed hook-shaped processes.

External anatomy: Lappets are lacking. The cephalic tentacles are of a similar size. Gill tips are prominent on the right side, and are visible on the mantle skirt above the head when viewed ventrally.

Radula: The rachidian tooth is broad with rounded lateral extremities. It has a truncate base that is anchored with lateral prongs. The upper portion of the rachidian shaft seems to emerge from behind a broad basal plate. The overhanging tip is either rudimentary or lacking entirely. The shaft and base of the first lateral tooth is broad, extending behind the rachidian, with an inner edge that is excavated to accommodate the base of the rachidian. The outer edge of the first lateral tooth has a strong elbow, and an overhanging tip that is relatively long. The second and third lateral teeth are similar, each possessing a pronounced elbow on the outer side. The inner arm of the shaft is deeply grooved for accommodation of the adjacent tooth. The cutting area is long, serrate and has a rounded tip. The fourth lateral tooth is unlike the first three,. The outer edge of the shaft is curved. The inner edge of the overhanging tip is finally serrate, whist the outer edge has ca. five strong, deeply cut serrations, with those near to the tip being the largest. The fifth lateral tooth is similar to the fourth in having a broad shaft and an undulating cutting edge. It has a tip with strong serrations. There are numerous marginals, which are not separated at their base and that gradually decrease in size.
