Casearia arborea (Gia Verde) is a species of tree in the family Salicaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Espirito Santo, Roraima, Bahia, Mato Grosso, SãO Paulo, Tocantins, Maranhao, Piauí, Puerto Rico, Amapá, Ceará, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Amazônia, Distrito Federal, Mata Atlântica, Acre (Brazil), RondôNia, Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, Sergipe, GoiáS, Cerrado, U.S. Virgin Islands, Paraná, ParaíBa, Minas Gerais, Pará, and Alagoas. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Individuals can grow to 27 m.
