Ranunculus californicus (California Buttercup) is a species of perennial herb in the family Ranunculaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are listed as endangered by COSEWIC. They are native to Canada and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by Andrena caerulea, Phyciodes mylitta, Andrena vicinoides, and Platycheirus stegnus. Individuals can grow to 0.12 m.
