Vittaria lineata (Shoestring Fern) is a species of perennial herb in the family Pteridaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to the contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, Mato Grosso, Amapá, Amazônia, São Paulo, Espirito Santo, Pernambuco, Amazônia, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, Acre (Brazil), Roraima, Pará, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Rio Grande do Sul, Maranhao, Mata Atlântica, Santa Catarina, and Rondônia. Shoestring Fern has simple, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph.
