This pantropical tree is known as Sea Almond for the shape of its seed pods. One of its coastal habits, to expoit open areas, is for the trunk to lie flat and let each stem form a "tree" on it own right. Photo from Boca del Tora area, Panama.
These trees are beautiful in shape. Photo taken by the sea-shore near Tsing Yi MTR Terminal I think they are Terminalia mantaly instead of Terminalia catappa. Please let me know if you find that I am wrong.
