Senecio vulgaris (Groundsel) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to South Korea, Russia, Hungary, France, Yugoslavia, Belarus, Austria, Finland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Libya, Poland, Norway, Germany, China, Ireland, The Netherlands, Ukraine, Estonia, Albania, North Korea, Spain, Greece, Denmark, Tunisia, Italy, Faroe Islands, Latvia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal, Lithuania, Georgia, Iran, Moldova, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Iceland, Morocco, Algeria, and Romania. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Nomad Bees, Lasioglossum smeathmanellum, House fly, and Dasypoda hirtipes. Individuals can grow to 1.5 feet.
