Stomoxys calcitrans is a species of flies in the family Muscidae. They visit flowers of Solidago, Lobularia maritima, Ruth's milkweed, and Symphyotrichum lentum. They are solitary, diurnal carnivores. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on flight to move around.
