Sardinella maderensis (Herring) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family herrings. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN. They are carnivores. Individuals can grow to 37.3 cm. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is iteroparous and oviparous.
