Saxidomus gigantea (Deshayes 1839)

Saxidomus gigantea is a species of mussels in the family venus clams. Saxidomus gigantea form shallow marine sediments. It is a suspension feeder. Individuals can grow to 549 g. Saxidomus gigantea has sexual reproduction. It is a facultatively mobile animal.
