Passer domesticus (House Sparrow) is a species of birds in the family Old World sparrows. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in Antarctica, the Neotropics, Australasia, the Indo-Malayan Realm, the Palearctic, and the Afrotropics. It is a diurnal insectivore. Individuals are known to live for 23 years.
