Aythya fuligula (Tufted Duck) is a species of birds in the family Anatidae. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is found in Oceania (Australia and islands), the Palearctic, the Indo-Malayan Realm, and the Afrotropics. Tufted Duck is a diurnal herbivore. Individuals can grow to 950 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Tufted Duck has parental care (only female provides care). It relies on flight to move around.
