Loxia curvirostra (Crossbill) is a species of birds in the family finches. It is found in the Nearctic, the Indo-Malayan Realm, the Neotropics, and the Palearctic. It is a diurnal granivore. Individuals can grow to 48 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Crossbill has parental care (occasionally breeds cooperatively). It relies on flight to move around.
