Colaptes auratus (Northern Flicker) is a species of birds in the family woodpeckers. It is found in the Neotropics and the Nearctic. It is an insectivore. Individuals can grow to 170 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Northern Flicker relies on flight to move around.
