Length: (excluding streamers) 46-50 cm. Colour: adult white with a pink wash; a black crescent through the eye and black outer webs on the base of the primaries; tail streamers red; bill red or orange; feet and legs red with black webs; immature heavily barred black on back, no streamers, bill black. Habitat: open ocean. (). Distribution: open ocean off the whole eastern African coast
