Colonies are massive, the surface being an irregular series of mounds. Corallites are immersed. The reticulum is covered with papillae; there are also thecal papillae which are slightly longer. Colour: usually bright or dark green, sometimes cream, blue or pink. Abundance: common on upper reef slopes (Veron, 1986).
