They are native to AmazôNia, Alagoas, Bahia, Tocantins, Caatinga, Sergipe, Espirito Santo, Acre (Brazil), RondôNia, Ceará, GoiáS, Pernambuco, Amapá, Rio Grande Do Norte, SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Pantanal, Rio De Janeiro, Piauí, Cerrado, Brazil, Distrito Federal, Maranhao, Pará, ParaíBa, Mato Grosso, Roraima, and Minas Gerais. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit.
