Ceriomyces conicus (Rav.) Murrill, Mycologia 1 : 146. 1909,
Boletus conicus Rav.; Berk. & Curt. Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist. II. 12 : 430. 1853.
Pileus convex or subconic, 2.5-5 cm. broad ; surface clothed with fasciculate, appressed, yellowish flocci : context white, unchangeable, tasteless ; tubes ventricose, flesh-colored, becoming darker at the maturity of the spores, mouths small, angular, edges subfimbnate : spores fusiform, smooth, subferruginous, 14-16X5-6//: stipe tapering upward, pale-yellow, glabrous, not reticulate, 5 cm. long, 12 mm. thick.
Type locality : South Carolina.
Habitat : Damp pine woods.
Distribution : Known only from the type collection.
