Pilhecollobium macradenimn Pittier. Contr. U. S. Nat. Herb. 20: 465. 1922.
Twigs stout, densely puberulent. Petioles puberulent, 3-7 cm. long; pinnae usually 3 pairs, a cupulate coriaceous gland 8-10 mm. in diameter between the lowest pair, and small stipitate glands between the other pairs; leaflets 5-8 pairs, oblong or the upper pair obovate, 2-5 cm. long, 1-2 cm. wide, dark green and nearly glabrous above, pale and puberulent beneath; peduncles brown-puberulent, stout, 5-6 cm. long; pedicels 2.5 mm. long; calyx campanulate, about 3.5 mm. long, puberulent; corolla white, about 6 mm. long, its tube glabrous, its lobes puberulent; stamen-tube included; legume curved, compressed, stdcate between the seeds, about 10 cm. long and 2 cm. wide.
Type locality: Monte Lirio, Canal Zone, Panama. Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
