It is native to Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Italy, Russia, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Montenegro, Albania, Yugoslavia, Azerbaijan, Romania, Slovakia, Croatia, France, and Georgia. It is a solitary grazer. Individuals are known to live for 264 months and can grow to 33266.35 g. Reproduction is viviparous and dioecious. (Pronounce: Sha Mee Or Sham Wa) relies on running to move around.
