Dipodomys spectabilis (Banner Tailed Kangaroo Rat) is a species of rodents in the family Heteromyidae. It is listed as near threatened by IUCN. It is found in the Nearctic. Banner Tailed Kangaroo Rat is a solitary, nocturnal granivore. Individuals are known to live for 36 months and can grow to 136 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Banner Tailed Kangaroo Rat relies on saltation to move around.
