Coendou prehensilis (Brazilian Porcupine) is a species of rodents in the family New World porcupines. It is found in the Neotropics. It is a solitary, nocturnal herbivore. Individuals are known to live for 207.6 months and can grow to 4400 g. Reproduction is dioecious.
