Description: characterised by the presence of exposed and enlarged scales interradially and flat granule-covering. Also distributed in Gilbert Islands (Clark, 1954); South Pacific Is. (Clark & Rowe, 1971); Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995); Lakshadweep (India) in Sastry (1991). Ecology: benthic, inshore. General distribution: tropical, west-central Pacific Ocean, intertidal waters (Rowe & Gates, 1995); India and tropical central Pacific Ocean in Sastry (1991).
