Test elongate, saggitiform, sides flattened, edges truncate, biserial throughout, chambers enlarging gradually, sunken and concave on the sides, sutures elevated on the flat sides of the test and constricted laterally to result in serrate test margins; wall calcareous, hyaline, optically radial, perforate with pores of medium size, surface highly ornamented by elevated reticulations, prominent on the early part of the test and flat sides but not present on the apertural face; aperture basal, ovoid, extending up the apertural face, without a bordering lip but with an internal folded toothplate at one side of the opening, free part reduced and not projecting, one side of the folded toothplate terminating midway in the chamber, tooth plates of successive chambers alternating in orientation.
