Pedetes capensis (South African Spring Hare) is a species of rodents in the family springhares. It is found in the Afrotropics. It is a solitary, nocturnal herbivore. Individuals are known to live for 174 months and can grow to 3500 g. Reproduction is dioecious. South African Spring Hare relies on saltation to move around.
