pair 1. Natural song at dawn. Quebradas in red soil with "monte" vegetation (Larrea, cacti, scattered Prosopis trees, mostly bare soil). Often out on bare soil away from vegetation. Noticeably long-tailed with bright rufous in wings and tail. When feeding in bushes or small trees often near tips of branches. Ignacio Areta noted that some individuals, including some of the ones we saw that day and the next had throat patch.
