Emilia sonchifolia (Lilac Tasselflower) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Maranhao, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, AmazôNia, Rio Grande Do Norte, Pará, Pernambuco, Rio De Janeiro, US Minor Outlying Islands, Ceará, Bahia, Espirito Santo, The Contiguous United States, ParaíBa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Sergipe, Puerto Rico, Alagoas, Caatinga, Piauí, and Mata Atlântica. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Callicista columella istapa, Thecla bubastus ponce, and Lipotriches brachysoma. Individuals can grow to 1 m.
