this is one of the tiny ferns. In Israel it is very rare occuring in a few spots along the coastal plain. You can see them in November-December, after that the grass will cover all.

Ophioglossum polyphyllum is a tiny desert fern. In Israel it is endangered, known from only 2 site. It grows in extreme desert and sprouts only in rainy years. We were lucky this year to see it for a month or so. Here u can see the spore stalk just after dispercal.
