They are native to Pantanal, The Contiguous United States, Espirito Santo, RondôNia, Minas Gerais, Pará, U.S. Virgin Islands, SãO Paulo, Acre (Brazil), Bahia, GoiáS, Tocantins, Puerto Rico, Pernambuco, Rio De Janeiro, Cerrado, Amazônia, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pampa, ParaíBa, Maranhao, Caatinga, Rio Grande Do Norte, Alagoas, Roraima, Paraná, Mata Atlântica, Amapá, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Distrito Federal, Sergipe, Piauí, Mato Grosso, and Ceará. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.19 m.
