It is native to the contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, United States, North America, eastern north america, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Goiás, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Cerrado, Rio Grande do Sul, Mato Grosso, Distrito Federal, Rio de Janeiro, Pampa, Mata Atlântica, Paraná, São Paulo, and Santa Catarina. Slender Little Bluestem has simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. It is a photoautotroph.
